Would you like to build your confidence using computers, the internet, and other everyday digital tools? We have a course that will help you feel more connected - whether you’re using the skills to support your family or feel more confident at work.
This course is split into two modules: The Basics and Developing the Basics.
Each module is delivered over three 2 hour sessions, totalling 12 hours of learning time.
The Basics
In the first three sessions, you'll learn about the basic steps needed to get comfortable with technology, including:
- Identifying and starting up IT equipment
- Using a keyboard and mouse
- Logging on
- The difference between hardware and software
- Accessing the internet and using it to save websites and search for information
- Basics of Microsoft Word, including how to open and create a document
- Logging off and shutting down safely
Developing the Basics
Once you're comfortable with the basics, the next three sessions can help you to develop your skills a bit further. In these sessions, you'll learn:
- Setting up an email address
- Sending and receiving an email
- Attaching files, like a CV, to an email
- Using apps and social media
- Online shopping and transactions
You'll also have the chance to ask your tutor to go over specific areas that you need help with.
