Pathway 1 - Health and Social Care
This free, 5-week course is perfect for anyone looking to start a career in care.
A Level 1 Health and Social Care course is a great entry point if you're interested in working in the care sector. No experience is needed, making it a fantastic choice for young people beginning their careers or anyone who is looking to go in a new direction.
On this pathway, you'll receive Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings.
Pathway 2 - Adult Social Care
This free, 3-week course is a fantastic starting point for a career in adult caregiving.
Whether new to the field or just entering the workforce, this training pathway breaks down the basics of Health and Social Care, preparing you for roles such as Care Assistant and Support Worker.
On this pathway, you'll achieve three Level 1 qualifications:
- Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
- Award in Mental Health Awareness
- Award in Nutrition and Health
Pathway 3 - Infection Control in Care Settings
This free, 3-week course is perfect for those looking to make a meaningful impact supporting vulnerable people most at risk in society while enjoying a dynamic and supportive learning environment..
Recommended for learners who’ve completed Level 1 training or those already working in care, this course deepens your expertise in risk assessment and decontamination practices.
It would be particularly useful and highly valuable for anyone applying for roles within any Health and Social Care setting, including:
- Care Assistants

- Personal Assistants
- Infection Control Practitioners
- Clinical Nurse Specialists
- Laboratory Assistants
On this pathway, you’ll achieve a Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Healthcare Settings.

Who Can Join Our Training?
If you live in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derby, or Derbyshire, you can take part in our face-to-face training only.
If you live outside these areas, face to face training isn't available but you can still join us through our online courses.
To take part, you must be:
- 19 years or older, and
- Either claiming unemployment benefits or earning under £25,750 per year.
- Additional rules may apply if you're an asylum seeker.
There may also be other location-based restrictions, so please get in touch with us before applying to make sure you're eligible and to get more details. More info
