Ashley, 29, from Edwinstowe, came to Futures with a clear goal: to upskill and earn a Level 2 teaching qualification.
Despite facing personal challenges including ADHD and Mixed Anxiety and Depressive Disorder, Ashley was determined to better himself and pursue a career in education.

Ashley had long struggled with focus and motivation, often starting things but not finishing them. School had been difficult, and he described himself as the “class clown.” With a desire to change his path and pursue teaching, Ashley knew he needed qualifications, but he also needed guidance, encouragement, and a judgment-free space to grow.

Ashley successfully completed his Level 2 qualification and has been accepted into the University of Derby to study Education. His goal is to become a teacher - a future that once felt out of reach now feels achievable and exciting.
