Careers Adviser - Youth Guarantee

Are you a qualified Careers Adviser passionate about supporting young people with SEND to achieve their ambitions?
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Careers Adviser to join our Youth Guarantee team, based at our Friar Gate office in the heart of Derby City Centre, with regular outreach work across the local area. This is an exciting opportunity to provide life-changing careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) to young people aged 16 to 25, helping them overcome barriers and progress into education, employment and training.

You'll be at the forefront of supporting young people with SEND and those who are economically inactive, acting as their dedicated adviser and advocate while building strong partnerships with education providers, employers, local authorities and support services. 
This role combines one-to-one guidance, group delivery, community outreach and partnership working, ensuring every young person receives the support they need to achieve positive outcomes. 
Key Responsibilities
•    Deliver high-quality Careers Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) to young people aged 16 to 25 with SEND.
•    Manage a caseload of customers, creating action plans and supporting progression into employment, education and training.
•    Deliver sessions and workshops across Derby, including work linked to the Derby Promise.
•    Build strong referral networks and partnerships with local stakeholders.
•    Use labour market information (LMI) to support informed career planning.
•    Identify and help remove barriers affecting progression and employability.
•    Maintain high-quality records and achieve contractual performance targets.
•    Carry out outreach work, including community-based support and home visits where required. 
Essential Requirements
✅ Level 6 Careers Information, Advice and Guidance qualification (or working towards it)
✅ Experience providing effective IAG/CIAG to young people, particularly those aged 14 to 25 with SEND
✅ Strong understanding of the barriers faced by young people with SEND and additional support needs
✅ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
✅ Experience managing caseloads, targets and outcomes
✅ Strong digital skills, including Microsoft Office and Teams
✅ Ability to travel across Derby City Centre and surrounding locations as required
